Project 365: #52There are lots of things that I like about Germany, probably too many to go through. This is one, linking to what I wrote about urban greening before: this is a municipal horticultural field....you can't see clearly, but there are rows of plants, shrubs, and trees, all tended by the municipality and used for public spaces. I have seen these types of plots all over the the suburbs, where they are regularly tended.
It does seem that when tax money is spent wisely, and not squandered, that it uplifts communities, even in appearances initially, and provides employment for those tending the gardens. It is nice to see tended gardens, verges, parks, and forests as it provides a sense of pride in the environment that can be relayed to the community. So, not only do the plants provide necessary oxygen for use to survive, but they have the possibility of breathing life into any community.
