Day 53: Patriot's Path

"Walk on a rainbow trail; walk on a trail of song, and all about you will be beauty. There is a way out of every dark mist, over a rainbow trail" - Robert Motherwell

Project 365: #53

Yikes! We are moving this month! Gulp! So much to do, so little time! But, we can at least have glimpses of where we are moving to, thanks to the explorations of Mike on Sunday morning! This is part of the Patriot's Path running along the Raritan River:

After seeing the yellow police tape, Mike naturally assumed (coming from ZA, or too many Law and Order episodes), that a violent crime had been committed behind the yellow line.

It turns out that the police in Morris County have to consider more than just the maintenance of peace, but their job also encompasses wildlife and the area of a bee-hive was cordoned off (phew, sigh of relief)!

You do have to be careful not to trespass, and that you have permission to go hunting (mental note...do not stray from the path when out jogging)!

All in all, it looks like a pretty awesome area in summer, and in winter I noted on the info on the Patriot's Path blurb, that it also includes cross-country skiing! Woohoo, new adventures!
