"Let us never know what old age is. Let us know the happiness time brings, not count the years" - Ausonius
Project 365: # 48
Birthdays are always a time to reflect, years gone by, accomplishments, dreams, goals. This is one of my best places to sit and reflect, but the weather today is not playing along...still cool at 13 degrees max for almost summer and the beginning of June next week! At least that can be remedied by a nice cup of coffee and a blanket! I can also pretend the sun is shining! I just love how all the hard work you put into gardening reflects with the succession and development of gardens through seasons.
I am definitely not counting the years, but have realised that with each year I certainly experience a deeper peace, joy, and happiness. I am not sure if it is just a maturity of accepting things as they are, and making the most of them, or if some of the brain cells responsible for how we feel deplete with age? Maybe a combination, anyway, I much prefer how I feel now to when I was younger. If I had the chance to do things again, I would like to be the me now in the past...but who wouldn't?!
