Day 25: Home is where the heart is

"Home is where the heart is" - Pliny the Elder

Project 365: #25

It has been the most awesome weekend with the whole family together, even if for a short time. I have been completely exhausted, but I think it is the relief of not having to be a single mother, even for a short while. I do respect all single mothers, whether by their choice or not. The lone responsibility of your children is enormous, and I would not choose this path.

I took these photos of our walls a little while ago, knowing that we would be moving, so I can remember to put up the pics again in our new home, wherever that will be.  But, I firmly believe that home is where our journey begins. Home is where we learn about relationships, the good and bad parts, it is also where we learn our values, and hopefully, unconditional love. It is the beginning of lifelong adventures, and always a rock to come back to, or as our reference point, or just to remember.

No matter what, things happen for a reason. It is important to always remember this, because often at the time, reasons are hard to see, and we often find it hard to find the faith to just believe. It is also VERY important to live well, laugh often and LOVE much. Love is amazingly healing!

These were just fun postcards, but had a nice message, so I hung them at the bottom of the stairs so the family can see them first things in the morning, in the hope that something soaks in, even if subliminally! I covered a canvas with this pretty traditional tea-towel from Poland, hand-painted and beautiful! Nice and bright to start the day! Important lessons - happiness is a choice, no matter the circumstances!
