"I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul" - Jean Cocteau
Project 365: #137
I am sure that many people think we are insane taking the cats with us on our adventure, and I have felt that maybe it is cruel, as the plane journey must be so scary for them. But they have recovered well, and are really enjoying it here. I couldn't imagine leaving the 'fur-babies' behind. I have been petrified of letting them out, as our garden is literally onto a conserved forest area, so they would disappear in no time, and if scared, I am not sure that they would find their way home. So, I made sure they were inside for at least three weeks. On the back patio we have a sliding door with an insect screen on, so every time I went into the garden or outside, the cats would sit at the screen and yowl! I eventually relented to the incessant meows and let them out. They are having a ball, and have not ventured too far away, always coming back to touch base, and then explore again. All the new smells and sights are just SOOO exciting. Campbell has managed to get himself lost under the deck twice, and explored the neighbours garden. Mouse has been up a few trees, and under the shed. Both always inspecting the gardening that I have been doing, making sure all is good. They are always around whatever I do, becoming the invisible soul of our home. I have decided that it may be nice to come back as a cat in this house in my next life...they are so spoilt!
