"The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness" - John Muir
Some more pics from our walk through the forest. I am always amazed when I walk through the forest at how amazing nature is at recycling. This path was next to an historic saw mill, so there are lots of felled trees lying around, as well as those that have fallen naturally at the end of their lifespan. What is amazing is natural recycling, how the microorganisms, bugs, fungi, plants all work together to recycle the nutrients and continue the ecological chains, supporting life through intricate, carefully- created food webs. It is important to notice how everything works together, so we may become more environmentally-tuned, and live more sustainable lives. The bigger picture of the Universe can be seen through these tiny ecosystems on the forest floor.
