Day 128: India Brook, Mendham, NJ

"Hiking is something that I really, really like to do. It's distracting, you're in nature, and you get a nice workout that way. I would tell everyone to hike as much as they can - you just feel so much better when you get outdoors " - Odette Annable

Project 365: #128

We enjoyed our Sunday afternoon with a walk alongside India Brook. Wow, what an awesome surprise, about two miles from our house! (I am closing my eyes to the yellow leaves on the ground though!)

This is such a pretty stream, that apparently turns into a Grade 3-4 river during heavy rains, and is paddlable! Yay!! These trails are awesome, birds singing, frogs chirping, and the stream trickling its way over the rocks, the same way it has done for hundreds and hundreds of years. There is something soothing on the soul to just sit and be quiet in this carefully crafted creation. It distracts you from stress and puts everything back in perspective.
