Day 258: Splash of green

"Life has evolved to thrive in environments that are extreme only by our limited human standards: in the boiling battery acid of Yellowstone hot springs, in the cracks of permanent ice sheets, in the cooling waters of nuclear reactors, miles beneath the Earth's crust, in pure salt crystals, and inside the rocks of the dry valleys of Antarctica" - Jill Tarter

Project 365: #258

It is absolutely amazing to witness life in the  most unexpected places! The trees are all bare, and brown leaf litter covers the ground...yet in the middle of this is green life sprouting from the crevices in the rocks. It is amazing that life continues in barren and unexpected places, always providing hope and lighting the way with a splash of colour!
