Day 87: Lake Hopatcong, NJ

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time" - John Lubbock

Project 365: #87

We have been surveying the area where we live, and discovered beautiful Lake Hopatcong, the largest freshwater lake in NJ, and only about 12 miles from home! So pleased to have found such a big lake so nearby. This has become a largely residential area, with a few summer homes scattered in-between. I wouldn't mind week-ending here! It is very charming, and quite relaxing...not sure about winter though!

I just love this boathouse! I can imagine a nice relaxed summer lifestyle, out on the boat on the lake, back for cool sundowners on the deck! Lying in the grass, listening to the water, and watching the clouds, imagining all the different changing shapes they make. Forgetting reality for a few minutes at a time. Oh, to dream!
